Today I’m excited to share a new feature called “I’ve Never Seen that Dress Before!” which is partly a chronicle of my not-so-secret obsession with dresses, cardigans and other furbelows….and partly a contribution to the conversation about ‘fashion’ and apparel that is happening in the online blogging community.

These photos were taken last summer in Riomaggiore, Italy. One afternoon we picked blackberries and made homemade sangria. In the evening, we walked down to the beach for a picnic dinner.
Over the last few years, I’ve really enjoyed reading fashion blogs that allow us to see how regular people dress everyday. It may not be couture, but I find it a lot more interesting to see what folks can put together with what they have on hand. Bringing more D.I.Y. and individuality into our apparel enriches our sense of self.
Furthermore, I find fashion blogs far more inspiring than certain magazines which promote a harmful and narrow-minded ideal of beauty. People come in all shapes and sizes, and it’s important that fashion be a reflection of who we are rather than of what the fashion industry would make of us.
I hope you’ll enjoy this feature over the next few months and send me any questions or comments you may have.
